In 2011 IDW launched an ongoing series that would go on to be the longest in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles history, spanning 150 issues. From the beginning, this series told a sprawling tale about family, heroism, and tragedy of epic proportions. TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman plotted out storylines with original series writer Tom Waltz and then Sophie Campbell, who took over on issue #101. Joining the writers were artists Dan Duncan, Andy Kuhn, Ben Bates, Mateus Santolouco, Cory Smith, and more, who crafted a new style that distinguished it from previous iterations while at the same time adhering to what made the original comics so great.
